This week saw the return of Pavol Demitra for the Vancouver Canucks, and with his immediate impact being felt the team of Mike and Dennis surged to 5th overall with a big, big 32 points this week.
Plunging to dead last with a mere 6 points this week, the team of Brenda and Haley, by contrast 8 other teams in our league had at least one player with 6 points!

Weekly Run Down - 17 November, 2008
Sorry for the absence last week, I took an extra day to remember, combining the 10th and 11th.
With the first overall pick, Alexander Ovechkin waking up, Chris and Alvin are surging this week, with 29 points, vaulting them up the standings to 8th overall.
Plunging this week with 3 players presently listed as injured are Brenda and Haley, who managed to pick up a dreary dozen points, one more than this week's award of distinction winner Mike & Dennis aka Dink's 11 points for Nicklas Backstrom. The aforementioned team of Brenda and Haley are now sitting in 14th place, just one position up from the tie we currently have for dead last.
With only 40 points separating first from last, this is definitely one of the closest pools we have had in recent years.

Weekly Run-Down 3 November, 2008
Surging this week with a big 36 points is Craig Van Alstyne. Let by an awakening Ryan Getzlaf's 10 point week, Craig moves up the standings to a tie for 3rd place with yours truly.
Plunging is Dink (Dennis and Mike) with a mere 14 points this week. Without the saving grace of Mikko Koivu, Mike's second team would have had as many points as the Getzlaffian effort put forth by Craig's top player.
Looking at league standings today we see a rarity of Toronto in the playoff picture at 8th in the east, and a not so rare sighting of Vancouver on the outside looking in. Holding steady at second in the east is the mighty Montreal Canadiens with only 1 loss in regulation for a winning percentage of .800. I know it won't hold up, but it sure is nice to see the Habs trying to erase the mark of the 1976 team's season.

Weekly Round Up: October 27th
Yes, I know this is a day early, posting on the 26th, but with no games scheduled today, we can take a look at the week that was.
Surging to second place overall this week was the weekly leader Blamac, with 29 points. It would appear that their number 1 pick of Jarome Iginla has finally decided to keep the gloves on, and stick in his hands to contribute points instead of fighting majors.
Plunging to the bottom of the standings, is the team of Bill & Liina, who this week were dealt a harsh blow, their second pick Daniel Briere going down with an abdominal injury that will keep him out for at least two months.

20 October Weekly Awards
In the grand tradition started by Ryan here are this week's awards:
The Gloat award goes to George Sali with a colossal 40 points, George is attempting to run away and hide at the top of the leader-board.
The Goat award this week goes to Bill & Liina with a meager 15. If you keep this up, Al won't be alone in the basement for long.
The Special Award of Distinction also goes to George for his Buffalo twosome of Vanek and Kotalik who's combined 15 points matches that of all of Bill & Liina's players for this week.
